Lincoln County
Wilderness Search and Rescue

Lincoln County Search and Rescue (SAR) is a volunteer group of specialty-trained Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members. This group of team members are dedicated to providing training resources, at no cost, to assist in search and rescue missions, disasters, and other emergencies for Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, and any other authorized agency that requests our assistance through Lincoln County EMA.

Lincoln County SAR is committed to professionalism, accountability, and the spirit of emergency response so that others may live.

Lincoln County SAR is a specialty team of CERT which meets monthly and conducts additional training throughout the year. Lincoln County SAR works closely with MDIFW and the Maine Association for Search and Rescue (MASAR) for training and missions to ensure a positive, seamless relationship during times of activation.

Lincoln County SAR members do not have to be MASAR-certified, but we encourage all members to complete the Maine Basic Search and Rescue (BASAR) online course. The course fee is $35, but affiliated teams are able to access this training for a reduced cost. The Team conducts regular training to support members in obtaining their MASAR certification for Wilderness Search and Rescue.

If you or someone you know is lost or injured in the woods or on the waters of Maine, call 911.
